NIKON D4S SAVED THE DAY

PREVIOUS / NEXT

PHOTO GEAR by KRISS on 27 august 2016

My last photo session with Ana gave me plenty of opportunities to post interesting things so here I come again posting about it.
As the sun was really starting to fade and since my son had decided to go swim and then play with Ana’s little dog (another post to come about that), I had to set my light on my own, working fast, in the sand and this is never really ideal.
I managed to get a few shots with a decent light (post them after the natural light) but I personally felt more comfortable when I switched the trigger off and started shooting in natural light.
There was barely enough light to focus and I have to admit that Nikon’s AF help is useless if you use any professional lens that will just block it.

However, the excellent AF of the beast didn’t disappoint me and what a nice surprise for such high ISO when I opened the pictures in Lightroom !

I actually fancy the light atmosphere of these shots a lot more than I do those with the bare bulb flash.

I did in the last one Jimmy but the bare bulb for some reason (HSS) but I understood it too late, wouldn't budge from 1/8 and it was far too much power !
