THE TRUTH ON ORGANIC FARMING This article might not land me only admirers but I will nonetheless tell you the truth about organic farming.
At least in what concerns essential oils, and my experience working with producers for many years in this area kind of gives me enough ground to know what I am talking about.

First of all let's separate organic farming in two categories.
The first category is the one in western countries where rules and regulations are very very much checked upon and then in other countries where bribe does exist more largely.
In the first countries, as long as you paperwork is good, you're good to go, in the latter, I wouldn't know but I guess pretty much the same !

Organic farming can be about two things :

Trying to get the planet clean (nowadays, we live in a world with big polluting industries and while they should not be encouraged, imagining that organic farming is going to change anything is at best naive, at worse hypocritical) - this is only my own opinion.

Trying to get a product that has no or little pesticides for your own health.

Oh yeah also if you are a producer organic farming can be solely about raising government aids but that's another topic.

Anyways, if you buy organic essential oils because you also use led lamps and clean in front of your door out of philosophy, it may be naive but it is a beautiful philosophy and you should be encouraged if you can afford it.
On the other hand if you are buying organic essential oils because you care about your health and the pesticides, let's get a few facts straight.

First of all, essential oils either act as concentrators of pesticides or the opposite.
But even when they concentrate the pesticides contained in plants, bear in mind the very little quantities of product you are exposing yourself to.
As a comparison, the threshold of pesticides pollution that may raise organic certification concerns in 10ml of essential oil is pretty much the one that will raise concerns in 1liter of any drinkable juice.
Are you following me ? Most of the time, you buy organic essential oils when the difference between the organic and the standard product is close to none.

There are exceptions I believe, in case of tropical oils that grow in areas where there are pesticides raids against malaria and such other nasties.
There buying organic probably makes a difference but I am not even sure.

What I know, is that the difference between your 10ml organic lavender and your 10ml standard lavender only exists in your mind, and your wallet !
