DETAILED WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

PREVIOUS / NEXT

WEDDING by KRISS on 18 september 2015

I rarely use the Nikkor 105mm macro because Kate monopolizes the lens most of the time and besides it's not enough wide aperture for me.

Quite understandably, 2.8 is already plenty enough when you shoot at very close range.
All background completely disappears.

Also as I worte in a previous post this lens can be a very good portrait lens, set aside its greenish skin tones.

But detail oriented photography can be realized with other lenses than a macro (although a macro lens is always a good choice).
But some of the following photos were not necessarily taken with the 105.
Some of them were also shot with a 35mm which is an excellent range to get close to people and make detailed oriented photography.

Why make the choice to shoot details that won't carry any identity during a wedding ? Because they will actually carry more meaning than you can expect for the people to whom the photographs belong.
Eventhough their faces are out of the picture they are what their own eyes witnessed and remembered form their magic day.
