CACTUS TRIGGERS

PREVIOUS / NEXT

PHOTO GEAR by KRISS on 13 september 2015

CACTUS TRIGGERS I used to own Cactus V4 triggers and boy they were bad.
This is really amateur equipment (piece of crap).
Not only does it not trigger all the time but also it runs out of batteries really fast.

I switched to Cactus V5 for occasional works because I don't use them everyday and wanted an affordable option.
If you need reliable triggers I suggest you go check expensive pocket wizard.

So Cactus V5 do trigger fine, all the time but they can be a hassle to work with for the following reasons:

-They have a molette on the side to select the canal and this is easy to roll without noticing when you manipulate them.
Then you wonder why it's not triggering and it's only that your trigger in on chanel 1 and your receiver is on another channel. -Also they sometimes don't trigger the first time and you have to manually trigger them (there is a button on the top to do that) to get them to pair together and with the camera. -Finally, if you forget to turn the switch back to off mode, they will run their batteries out in a few days.

But if you pay attention to these and need a cheap reliable option, they are good enough.
